Kindergarten

Landon had his first day of kindergarten! I was so nervous for him to ride the bus. Jerry stayed home to see him off. I cried like a baby. I can't believe my little boy is old enough to go to kindergarten. He was so excited to ride the bus on his own but I did walk him up and meet the bus driver. We found out there is one little boy from our ward in his class so I am anxious for them to make friends. He came home in the afternoon and said, "Why can't I go to the afternoon session?" I think he will do just fine.

My Little Scholar

We found a preschool for Lauren. I had one set up I thought would work but after figuring out it was in American Fork and not Lehi, I decided I didn't want Lauren that far from me. Her preschool is right next to Landon's school. Jerry was able to give both the kids a priesthood blessing the night before. I am so grateful he is a worthy priesthood holder. Lauren was so excited and looked so cute on her first day. I didn't expect the tears that came but I guess that's part of being a mom. One of the nice things about her school is the little portico where her teacher comes to the car and gets her and brings her to the car at the end of class. Love this feature! Her teacher is Mrs Johnson and she was happy to find out their is another Lauren in her class.

Move

We made it to Saratoga Springs. We are grateful for all the help we had from our ward and friends who watched the kids so we could get everything done. My parents were here to help us with the kids once we got up here. Jerry had a week off work so we were able to accomplish quite a bit with him home. My Dad built us some new cabinets to put toys in and make our toy room work. He also brought down shelving to help us get our food storage and have a place to put it. Thanks goodness for parents! We also had my brother Rod and his kids here the first weekend which was really fun. Ethan was flying out to visit family and even got to stay an extra day. We really enjoyed having them here. Natalee also made time to come and see our new place. She is the best friend! Landon had an open house for kindergarten and his assessment by a teacher. She said he is very smart and mathematically minded! This must come from Dad. We were able to switch him from afternoon to a morning class with Mrs Peterson. I am excited for him to start school. I think it will be a sad day for me and a very happy one for him. We took a family trip to IKEA and had a great time. The older kids went to the play area and Avery was a champ in the stroller. We will be sad when Dad has to go to work. For now putting him in the corporate office so he has a bit of a commute but is excited for a new adventure.

Court of Honor

We were invited to attend Briton Wright's court of honor in Layton. It was a special experience. Unfortunately, earlier in the week Jerry's bosses wife passed away unexpectedly. I have been so sad for their family. Jerry was able to attend the viewing on the way to the court of honor. Briton is such an impressive young man and we were anxious for our kids to see him earn his Eagle Scout. They had an actual eagle there from the Hoagle Zoo. I missed the presentation because Avery was playing in the drinking fountain but the kids loved it. We are grateful for the Wright's and positive influence they have been in our lives.

Lauren

We were at the temple today and watched a video about the Savior. The missionary asked Lauren after the movie what she thought about it. She said, "It wasn't that great." The look on the missionaries face was priceless. Poor girl. I am sure she that is not the typical response she receives.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon for Jerry's company party. The kids loved it. Avery loved the carousel. She laughed the whole time. Landon's favorite ride was the bat. I know it looks like Lauren may not have had fun but I think she really did.

Avery

So I have this obsession with happy hour at Sonic. We love to get slushies on our way to the library. Avery is apparently hooked as well.

Party

The kids wanted a going away party so we planned one at the pool. We have really spent a lot of time swimming there this summer. It has been fun. Avery doesn't actually swim. She just walks around and eats her little snacks. Then occasionally when I am not looking she lowers herself into the pool so I can frantically run over to be there and catch her. It's a blast.

Brin

Our friends have the cutest Yorkie puppy. Landon and Lauren love this dog. In fact, a few weeks ago we were driving in the car and Landon said, "I just can't stop thinking about that dog." She came over and we took some pics. Thanks Cheri!

Saratoga Springs

I talked smack about Saratoga Springs because I thought it was too far out but that's where we will be living. We made it up to SLC on the weekend and all the places we thought would be good, didn't work out. Luckily, Jerry had called a few places so we went to take a look and found a really nice couple needing to rent a townhome with a garage and small yard (those were our two requirements). We chatted a for a bit and worked things out with them. I think everything is going to be great. I am now working on preschool and school for Landon. We will be about 20 minutes away from Kevin and Lindsay and really close to Landon and Dana. We will also be close to Gary's family so we can see them more often. We are excited. We also have a Wal-mart close which anyone who knows me knows I LOVE going to Wal-mart (ha, ha, ha). We have a love/hate relationship :> We will have the movers here on the 12th to pack up all our stuff!

Outpatient Pavillion

Jerry took us on a tour of his project he has been working on. It is a beautiful building. The first picture is looking at the hospital from the top. It is scheduled to open next week. I loved the pool with the treadmill in it. We are so proud of his accomplishments. He really loves working for Jacobsen and loves the people he works with. We are so grateful he is doing something he loves.
