Landon's Creation

Landon has an amazing mind. He is very creative and likes to invent and build things. This is a house he built for his LEGO guys. I wondered what he would come up with when he asked for masking tape and started taking tupperware to his room. Sometimes I think my kids would be better off without store bought toys. They would probably become more creative...

First Steps

Sixteen Months Old

Avery is sixteen months old and starting to take her first steps! She took a few yesterday when the whole family was here so she got a lot of praise. Our friends Amy and James gave her some squeaky shoes which I think have inspired her to walk more. She is saying more words. She loves peek a boo, itsy bitsy spider, five little monkeys and any music. She loves to dance. She continues to be opinionated with her eating and I am always confused about her naps but most of the time, she seems happy. She is becoming more animated and is crazy about her grandparents. Her and Grandma will have a hard time being apart when they leave. She still loves the stairs, continues to get into everything and then looks at you to make sure you know she is doing something you don't want her to do. We are struggling with discipline due to the cuteness factor. Landon and Lauren play well with her and love having a baby sister.

Easter

We had a really nice Easter. Unfortunately, we forgot it was fast Sunday and I took no pictures of the kids in their new Easter clothes but other than that, it was good. We got up to find the Easter bunny had come. Grandma and Grandpa were able to come over and help the kids find their eggs. Then we made resurrection rolls and as they were baking watched a video based on Elder Holland's general conference talk. I love that talk. I have listened to it at least twenty times. It is an amazing description of the events surrounding the Savior's crucifixion and death. We attended sacrament meeting with Teresa and family and then had dinner together. I finished the day feeling inspired and ready to try again during the week to follow Christ's example.

More Cousins

We had Gary's family here this weekend. It was so fun to spend time with them. The older girls helped with the kids and they all had fun playing together. The girls were mainly interested in shopping and Nate had some friends down here so he was with them most of the time. We had a BBQ and really enjoyed hearing Grandpa, Nate and Jerry play the guitar and sing. We went to the annual Cotton Manor easter egg hunt. Lauren got a whole basket full of stuff and at the end said, "I'm really good at this!" Landon didn't get the golden egg so he was sad but Grandpa bought him a talking Spiderman toy that made him forget about the loss. Jessie and I took Landon, Lauren, Ellie and Sadie to Jumpin' Jacks. Teresa helped us color some eggs for the Easter bunny and also bought us In and Out. We are so glad they came. We have spent the last three Easter's together and have really enjoyed it.

Jim Brickman

My Mom and I went to the Jim Brickman concert tonight at Tuachan. It is the third time I have seen him in concert. We had great seats. We were on the fourth row up where Mother could see the piano. Unfortunately, the weather was not that great so they have to keep the piano under a tent. He had a musician with him who played the electric violin so that was new for us and neat to see.

Cousins

We had our cousins here all last week and had such a fun time. Lindsay, Brooklyn and Britton came back with Grandma and Grandpa on Sunday. We LOVED every minute of having them here. Grandma and Grandpa were EXTREMELY helpful and even gave Lindsay and me time to do a few things together. One of the highlights being a Zumba class at the gym. Can you say major hip action?! We had everyday planned and each got a week pass for the community center. We took the kids swimming many times and fortunately did not show them the hydrotube until we had Uncle Kevin there to help us take them all down it numerous times. We went to the church sites, shopped, drove to Zion's National Park, played in the water at Hidden Valley park, flew kites at Highland park and also enjoyed a wonderful conference weekend. I love hearing the prophet and his apostles speak. We are such a blessed people. We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition with the Schiess family visit. I can't wait for next year!!!
